Meet Douglas Lyons as 4 Eyed Moe !
I’m from New Haven, CT... born and raised. I grew up singing in church and learned a love for music there.
I got into musical theatre because it was the perfect combination of my obsession with singing, dancing and acting. My high school drama teacher, Kristin Grandfield, gave me the extra push I needed to pursue theatre.
I’ve known about The Musical, 5 Guys named Moe for a long time. The first time I did the show was 14 years ago at Cortland Repertory Theater, as No Moe. My favorite part of the show is performing the song “Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby?”. There’s so much heart to the gorgeous harmonies we sing.
One of my dream roles is Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime, which I had the honor of playing at The 5th Ave Theatre in 2017!
My favorite shows include Rent, Passing Strange and A New Brain.
This is my first time at WBT. I enjoy that it’s a little theatrical gem right outside the city.
I’m actually a composer, lyricist and playwright when I’m not on stage. I’ve been blessed to have my work seen on stages around the world. Writing has become my outlet when I’m not acting.
I listen to Gospel, Pop, Folk and Blues music. I love it all.
